What is a Career Fair?
It is a formal gathering of companies to check out prospective employees. It’s a great opportunity to meet employers in a non intimidating setting and ask questions and make a great impression. It’s a great networking opportunity.
- Be prepared to approach the employer
- Be confident when you approach employers
- Prepare your introduction
- Dress professionally
- Bring at least 25 resumes (Review the company listing to determine how many companies you plan to approach, then bring extras.)
- Research employers
- Target employers
- Arrive early

- Image is critical.
- Appropriate attire supports your image.
- Consider a briefcase instead of a backpack to store the items you collect and hand out. It provides a more professional look.
