The Gatton College is a selective admissions college. You must meet complete pre-major coursework requirements and maintain a 2.8 pre-major and cumulative grade point average (this requirement can be raised up to 3.0). You must be admitted to upper-division status before you can advance-register in junior- and senior-level business courses and before you can earn a baccalaureate degree from the Gatton College.
You will be admitted for upper-division if you:
- Enroll in the University of Kentucky.
- Complete at least 54 semester hours of college-level credit with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or the current Annual Admission GPA*, whichever is lower.
- Complete the required English/pre-major component (see the B & E Checksheet) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or the current Annual Admission GPA*, whichever is lower.
- Submit an upper-division application.
Lack one or two courses but have the GPA?
Students who need one or two English/pre-major courses will be permitted to complete the courses simultaneously with restricted coursework,if they have junior standing and the minimum cumulative and English/pre-major GPAs. This privilege, known as a "contract," will be granted for one semester only. See an advisor in room 235 to complete your contract.
