At the Gatton College of Business and Economics, we’re committed to preparing savvy, world-ready professionals. Our cutting-edge offerings are designed to give students real-world experiences enhanced by first-rate teaching. Partnering with esteemed faculty and successful businesses, our students are walking away with degrees that have prepared them for the real-world business challenges they will face.
For more than 80 years, we’ve been preparing men and women for today’s business world. The College houses bachelors, masters and doctoral degree programs within three academic units: the School of Management, Von Allmen School of Accountancy and the Department of Economics. A member of the AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), Gatton College is accredited to offer undergraduate and graduate programs in the business disciplines.
With immersive programs and top-notch faculty, our students are becoming world-ready. This is evidenced in our unique programs such as our 11-month immersive MBA program and our highly selective Global Scholars program.
Our new MBA program is designed to enhance our first-rate teaching with real-world experience. The core of the 11-month program contains three hands-on modules. A full 23 weeks of the program, these modules provide students the opportunity to work side-by-side with corporate firms through new product development, supply chain management and mergers and acquisitions.
We’ve also designed a unique Global Scholars undergraduate program aimed at preparing students to become world-ready. Through a highly selective curriculum, our students are ready to compete and collaborate with anyone, anytime and anywhere. They’re ready to find the opportunities in changing world markets. And ready to become part of the next generation of global business leaders.
In addition to giving our students a real-world education, our faculty members remain hands-on in their respective fields. From marketing and management to economics and accounting they are providing cutting-edge research in their areas of expertise. In fact, our information systems faculty was ranked among the top 20 in the world for research productivity in a 2005 study published by the Association for Information Systems.
Between our top-notch faculty and stellar degree programs, we’ve trained nearly 30,000 men and women. Our alumni continue to support us in numerous ways from partnering with us to employing our graduates to even lecturing on campus.
Carol Martin Gatton is one such alumnus. As a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in business administration, Mr. Gatton knew first-hand the value of a UK business education. Coupling his business degree and keen business knowledge, Mr. Gatton saw a successful career in automobile dealerships, banking and real estate. His success has become our success. In 1995 Mr. Gatton invested $14 million into the College enabling us to continue offering a quality educational experience. His gift to the College of Business and Economics was the largest in the history of the University at that time. Because of this, the Board of Trustees renamed the College in his honor. Today, Mr. Gatton remains highly involved with the College through our Business Partnership Foundation.
Hands on. Real world. Gatton College.
