In June of 2005, the University of Kentucky launched a totally redefined One Year Accelerated Track. This cutting-edge, immersive program takes place over 45 weeks, starting from early-June through early-May. It is positioned for both business and non-business graduates and there has been much success in the program with those students having an engineering, communications, education, political science as well as business degrees. Unique to this MBA track, no prerequisites are required for admittance, but instead are built into the program.

In the Leadership and Rapid Immersion Modules, students learn the basics of business, decisions science and information systems (DIS), accounting, leadership and teamwork. The core of business education continues in the Business Fundamentals Module where students receive 136 classroom hours in Finance, Marketing, Human Resources Management and Economics. The heart of the One Year Accelerated MBA is built around three key business processes: New Product Development, Supply Chain Management and Business Finance Strategies. Over a 25 week timeframe students will work side-by-side with corporate firms on specific projects identified by their Project Connect Executive.
Students also have an opportunity to select electives over a four week timeframe in marketing, entrepreneurship, risk management and global studies. The Capstone Module, which typically lasts two weeks, completes the MBA Curriculum focusing on a key current topic such as ethics, corporate responsibility or sustainability, with guest lecturers, workshops and/or case studies.
