PhD Degree Programs

Admission Information

Any student who has obtained his or her BA (or equivalent) by August 2010 can apply for admission. The Graduate Studies Committee of the Department of Economics makes the final decision on admission. This decision is based on the student's academic profile and prospects for successful completion of the curriculum.

Minimum admission requirements are:

  • an undergraduate grade-point average of 2.75
  • a graduate grade-point average of 3.0, and a minimum combined score of 1000 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE general test.

Admissions to the graduate program in economics is competitive, so meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
