UK Alumna to Carry Olympic Torch
University of Kentucky alumna Taylor Amerman will carry the Olympic torch Thursday, June 28, as part of the Olympic torch relay leading up to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London in July. She is one of three students at Nottingham University in England participating in the torch relay. Many students at Britain's universities were selected for the honor.

Amerman's portion of the torch relay will begin at approximately 6:11 p.m. BST (British Summer Time), which will be 1:11 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. She is runner No. 95. The relay can be observed live via the BBC torch cam online at www.bbc.co.uk/torchrelay.
A May 2011 graduate of UK, Amerman majored in accounting in the Gatton College of Business and Economics and minored in community leadership and development in the College of Agriculture. She was also a Chellgren Fellow. Last fall, she began attending the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility housed at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. She received a full-tuition scholarship to pursue her master of science in corporate social responsibility. Amerman is from Louisville.
