Dr. Radhika Santhanam is a Gatton Endowed Research Professor in the School of Management, Gatton College of Business & Economics at the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, Dr. Santhanam was a faculty member at Florida International University and the University of Cincinnati. Using a variety of research methods, Dr. Santhanam has investigated issues relating to the effective use of resources invested in technology. From a micro-perspective, her research in the area of Human-Computer Interaction has investigated methods by which training and better system design can improve a user's understanding and utilization of Information Systems (IS). From a macro perspective, her research on management support systems and IS selection has proposed methods by which organizations can select and monitor investments in IS so as to make effective use of organizational resources. She has published her research in a variety of journals, including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, Information and Organization, Information Technology and Management, European Journal of Information Systems, Information and Management, Computers & Operations Research, Data Base for Advances in Information Systems, and European Journal of Operational Research, among others.
Dr. Santhanam has also taught a variety of courses such as, systems analysis and design, decision support/expert systems, data communications, and organizational information systems, to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.
She is currently an associate editor of MIS Quarterly and Decision Support Systems. She was the program co-chair of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CIST), 2003, and the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Americas Conference on Information Systems, 2005.
