Joe Peek holds the Gatton Endowed Chair in International Banking and Financial Economics at the Gatton College of Business and Economics, University of Kentucky. Previously, he held positions as a professor of economics at Boston College, a Visiting Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and a Visiting Erskine Fellow at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. After receiving a B.S. in mathematics and an M.S. in economics at Oklahoma State, he earned his Ph.D. in economics at Northwestern. His research topics include international banking, bank regulation, monetary policy, and credit availability. His articles have appeared in numerous journals, including The American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, The Quarterly Journal of Economics, The Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Economics, and Real Estate Economics.
