Job Opening: Endowed chair position
Graduates of the Department of Economics at the University of Kentucky will have acquired an understanding of a common theoretical core in the principles of both microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis. They will also be able to apply basic economic tools to a wide variety of topics in the realm of business, government, and everyday life; to think critically and analytically with respect to economic issues and other areas of study; and to evaluate alternative economic policies to achieve various objectives. With this knowledge, our graduates are poised to lead the way in economic arena.
In addition to bachelor, master and Ph.D. degrees housed in the Economics Department, four different undergraduate economics degrees are offered in partnership with other University of Kentucky colleges. Through the Gatton College of Business and Economics the bachelor of science in business and economics can be earned, while the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of arts or bachelor of science in foreign languages and international economics (FLIE), and the bachelor of science in mathematical economics (MAEC) can all be earned through the College of Arts and Sciences.
